Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Manager to join a rapidly growing and successful business in an interim position, circa six months, which may be extended if appropriate.

Your role will involve working with and to support the finance director in assessing the current internal and external IT support, completion of several projects including cloud migration and where necessary assisting the current IT team in daily service provision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising daily operations of internal and external IT support (There may be requirement for hands on operations as well)
  • Completion of cloud migration
  • Review and recommend alternative external IT support provider and level of support
  • Review current internal IT support, provide recommendation for any changes or confirmation that current levels are adequate
  • Developing the organisation’s IT vision and translating it into actionable goals
  • Evaluating risk, developing network recovery and backup processes
  • Assuring that IT activities are within the limits of applicable laws, codes, and regulations
  • Administering data and network security for departments including system firewalls, antivirus, group policy and email security
  • Identifying future challenges in the IT landscape and developing mitigation strategies
  • Overseeing departmental budgeting and forecasting within the organisation
  • Identifying security vulnerabilities and eliminating them with strategic solutions

Skills/Personal Attributes:

  • Experience coordinating installations, upgrades, and maintenance
  • Proficiency in the working of servers, networks, computers, and peripherals
  • Extensive knowledge of system security and procedures for protecting the organisation’s data from intrusion or corruption
  • Excellent communication and customer support skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and create their work schedules with minimal supervision
  • Excellent troubleshooting, creative and technical problem-solving skills
  • Sound knowledge of IT systems, specifications, networks, and computer systems
  • Ability to communicate to tech-savvy and non-technical staff
