Job Description

We have been engaged to support this client on a number of senior, business-critical appointments.
They are looking to appoint a Commercial Analyst to play an important role in how the business identifies and prioritises growth opportunities.
Based in Aberdeen, this role has a global remit and works closely with senior leadership across international operations.
This is not a traditional reporting role.
It is focused on understanding markets, identifying meaningful signals, and turning information into clear, actionable insight.
An excellent package is on offer, reflecting the importance of this hire.

The Role:
You will take ownership of market intelligence across the group.
This is about helping the business decide where to grow by bringing clarity to complex and often fragmented information.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders and contribute directly to commercial decision making.

Key Responsibilities
• Build and develop a structured market intelligence capability across the group
• Track external signals including market trends, sector activity, competitor movement, and regional demand
• Identify, filter, and prioritise high-potential opportunities
• Translate complex information into clear, commercially relevant insight
• Produce concise, decision-ready opportunity and market intelligence packs
• Assess opportunities based on commercial fit, timing, and potential value
• Use modern tools, including AI and automation, to improve speed and quality of analysis
• Work closely with commercial teams to refine what a high-quality opportunity looks like
• Maintain a structured and disciplined approach to information, sources, and outputs

Key Skills

    You Will Bring
    • Experience in market intelligence, commercial analysis, strategy, or business insight roles
    • A strong ability to interpret data and turn it into clear, practical recommendations
    • Experience working with senior stakeholders and presenting insight clearly
    • Strong commercial awareness and judgement
    • Experience using modern tools, including AI, to gather and analyse information
    • The ability to filter noise and focus on what matters

The person

You will not be a pure reporting analyst.
You will be comfortable working with ambiguity and making informed recommendations.

Experience within energy, industrial, or infrastructure sectors would be helpful, but is not essential.

Benefits

    As well as a strong salary, bonus structure and benefits package, you can expect to have;

    • High visibility across a global business
    • Close interaction with senior leadership
    • Opportunity to influence where the business grows next
    • A role that combines analysis with real commercial impact
