Job Description

Grace May is partnering with a leading organisation in the energy sector to appoint a VP, Operations based in Houston.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished operations executive to take responsibility for operational performance, delivery and continuous improvement across a growing energy business.
Working as part of the executive leadership team, you will play a central role in translating business strategy into operational results. You will lead teams, strengthen processes and ensure the organisation has the operational capability, discipline and scalability required to support its next phase of growth.

Key Skills

    As VP, Business Development & Growth, you will take ownership of strategic growth initiatives and help strengthen the organisations position across its target energy markets.
    Key responsibilities will include:
    • Developing and executing business development and growth strategies aligned with the organisation’s wider commercial objectives
    As VP, Operations, you will provide strategic and hands-on leadership across the organisation’s operational activities, with responsibility for delivering safe, efficient and commercially focused performance.
    Key responsibilities will include:
    • Leading the operational strategy in alignment with wider business and growth objectives
    • Taking ownership of operational performance, productivity, quality and service delivery
    • Providing leadership to operational teams and developing a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
    • Establishing and monitoring operational KPIs to improve visibility, performance and decision-making
    • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and organisational scalability
    • Ensuring operations maintain the highest standards of health, safety, quality and regulatory compliance
    • Working closely with commercial, engineering, finance and executive teams to ensure effective delivery against customer commitments
    • Supporting the successful mobilisation and delivery of new contracts, projects and customer requirements
    • Managing operational budgets, resources and capacity to support both current requirements and future growth
    • Identifying and mitigating operational risks while strengthening business resilience
    • Developing leadership capability and succession across the operations function
    • Providing clear operational insight and recommendations to the executive leadership team

The person

    We are looking for an experienced operations leader who combines strong energy-sector knowledge with the ability to lead people, improve performance and successfully scale operations.
    You are likely to bring:
    • Significant senior operations leadership experience within the energy sector or a closely related industrial environment
    • A strong track record of leading complex, multi-functional operational teams
    • Demonstrable experience improving operational performance, efficiency and profitability
    • Strong knowledge of health, safety, quality and regulatory requirements within energy or industrial environments
    • Experience managing significant operational budgets, resources and performance metrics
    • The ability to develop effective operating models, processes and controls within a growing organisation
    • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the relationship between operational delivery and business performance
    • Experience working effectively with customers, senior stakeholders and executive leadership teams
    • A leadership style that develops people, creates accountability and builds high-performing teams
    • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership
