Job Description

Grace May is recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking organisation operating within the energy sector. Due to sustained growth and ongoing investment in technology, our client is creating a new ERP Manager position to lead and strengthen their enterprise systems capability. This is a key role within the business, responsible for the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of the ERP landscape. The ERP Manager will act as the primary point of ownership for ERP systems, supporting both day-to-day operations and longer-term system enhancement initiatives.

As ERP Manager, you will take ownership of the organisations ERP platforms, ensuring they effectively support business operations while evolving in line with strategic objectives.

Key Skills

    • Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for ERP and associated business systems
    • Own and manage ERP system performance, availability, and reliability
    • Diagnose, resolve, and proactively prevent system issues in line with governance and controls
    • Configure, maintain, and enhance ERP functionality, including data structures and reporting
    • Lead and support ERP upgrade and improvement programmes, including:
      • System configuration, testing, and validation
      • User training and production of clear process documentation
      • Stakeholder feedback and continuous improvement actions
    • Act as the central ERP subject matter expert across the business
    • Maintain high-quality technical, functional, and process documentation
    • Apply formal change control and issue management processes
    • Mentor and support colleagues within the systems or IT function
    • Identify opportunities for automation and system optimisation
    • Work closely with operational and business stakeholders to ensure ERP systems meet evolving needs
    • Support month-end and other recurring ERP-related activities
    • Attend operational sites as required to support system delivery and engagement

The person

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in an ERP Manager, ERP Lead, or senior ERP-focused systems role
    • Strong hands-on experience configuring, supporting, and improving ERP platforms
    • Track record of supporting ERP upgrades, implementations, or transformation projects
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Confident communicator, able to engage with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
    • Highly organised, with a strong focus on documentation, controls, and best practice
    • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
    • Willingness to travel to operational sites when required
