Head of Commercial Operations

Job Description
We are working in close partnership with a well-established, private equity-backed energy services business on a key strategic appointment.
They are looking to appoint a Head of Commercial Operations to play a central role in how the business operates and scales. Based in Aberdeen, this role has a global remit and works closely with senior leadership across international operations
This is not a traditional support role. It is about building and embedding a strong commercial operating system, bringing structure, discipline, and control across the business. An excellent package is on offer, reflecting the importance of this hire.
The Opportunity
You will take ownership of how the commercial function operates across the group.
This is about creating clarity, improving performance, and ensuring the business runs with consistent standards and reliable data.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders and play a visible role in shaping how commercial activity is managed at scale.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the commercial operating system across the group
• Drive CRM discipline, data quality, and consistent ways of working
• Improve forecast accuracy and pipeline visibility across regions
• Bring clear structure across new business, renewals, and installed base opportunities
• Build reporting and insight to support senior leadership decision making
• Establish and embed commercial processes, playbooks, and review cadence
• Strengthen pricing workflow, governance, and compliance
• Work closely with commercial leaders to enforce standards and improve execution
• Partner with finance, operations, and IT to align commercial and operational activity
• Identify control gaps early and take action to resolve them
Key Skills
You will bring:
• Experience in commercial operations, revenue operations, or sales operations
• A proven track record of improving CRM usage, data quality, and forecasting accuracy
• Experience in multi-entity or international businesses
• Strong understanding of pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting
• The ability to challenge senior stakeholders and hold teams to consistent standards
• Experience driving behavioural change, not just implementing systems
• A practical, hands-on approach with a focus on delivery
• Experience within energy, industrial, or engineering environments is helpful, but not essential.
