Estimator – Engineering

Job Description
Grace May is delighted to be partnering with a well-established engineering organisation to recruit an Estimator as part of its continued growth.
If you enjoy turning technical information into accurate, commercially sound cost models, this role is for you.
This is an opportunity to join a business delivering complex engineering projects where you'll play a key role in understanding how a project will be delivered, identifying the resources required and developing accurate pricing models from tender through to project handover.
You'll work closely with commercial, engineering and operational teams, thinking beyond individual components to understand the complete scope of work, the technical challenges involved and the true cost of delivery.
Key Skills
We're looking for someone who can:
• Understand how an engineering project comes together and identify every element required to deliver it successfully.
• Build accurate technical cost models, considering labour, materials, fabrication, specialist services, equipment and subcontractor costs.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Balance technical accuracy with commercial awareness to produce competitive bids.
• Think cross-functionally, working with engineering, operations, procurement and commercial colleagues to develop realistic project pricing.
• Manage multiple tenders while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
The person
Your background could include:
• Engineering Estimating
• Fabrication or Manufacturing
• Heavy Engineering
• Mechanical or Structural Engineering
• Industrial Services
• Energy or Infrastructure
• Project Engineering or Technical Commercial roles
If you've developed cost estimates, tender submissions or pricing models for technically complex engineering projects, we'd be keen to hear from you.
Benefits
Why consider this opportunity?
• Work on technically challenging, varied engineering projects.
• Be involved from tender through to project delivery.
• Hybrid and flexible working.
• Strong career development and mentoring.
• Collaborative, supportive team environment.
• Competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
If you're an Estimator who enjoys understanding the technical detail, building robust pricing models and influencing successful project delivery, we'd love to hear from you.
