Job Description

Our client is looking to add hardware engineers to their team. You would be someone who would love to be part of the R&D cycle from concept to design to integration and testing phase. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a unique business and help drive it forward.

This role will focus on developing their Integrated Energy System which could include the following areas;

• Solar PV integration and tracking
• Micro-wind infrastructure and control
• Thermal storage and distribution
• Energy recovery systems
• Heat pumps and HVAC
• Biomass cogeneration
• Mechanical structures and mechanisms for integration of systems

Responsibilities include;

• Contribute to project planning and management
• Collaborate with the software team to define system relationships
• Develop designs through concepting, schematics and diagrams, and CAD
• Validate designs through FEA and rapid prototyping
• Interface with fabrication and validation partners to deliver and test components
• Integrate components into complex, functional hardware/software systems
• Conduct extended real-environment testing of the integrated systems

Experience

You will have;

• Have a degree in a relevant engineering field
• Hands on experience with building or fabrication and/or prototypes
• CAD design experience (OnShape an advantage)
• General knowledge of thermodynamics, electronics, power systems & structures
• Strong problem-solving skills, be an independent learner
• Excellent team player and communicator
• Flexibility
